About Graeham Owens
Our handmade paper is made in rural, mountainous villages in Nepal, utilizing neither electricity nor petroleum in the process. The paper travels for five days on the backs of donkeys, through mountain passes and over bamboo bridges before it reaches the nearest passable road. After the long and adventurous journey, it arrives to our partner in Kathmandu, where our finished product is handmade.
Our paper is completely made from renewable resources. It is tree-free, acid-free and totally "green". Our business supports many hardworking people in Nepal. We are proud of that and ever mindful of compensating them fairly.
Graeham Owens enthusiastically supports independent booksellers and the IndieBound program! Independent retailers are essential to the diversity of our communities and healthy for our local economies.
